Cold front on its way
Follow me on Twitter! The end of the weekend ended up being beautiful, and those nice conditions will be the main story for most of the next week.  But first, this evening will finish out with clear skies and mainly calm conditions.  Overnight tonight we'll drop down to the low to mid fifties, but with those calm, clear conditions don't be surprised if you see some patchy fog develop, similar to how it did this morning.  Our eastern counties will have the best chance for this fog because there is more moisture in place there.Monday morning and afternoon will bring sunny skies, but we'll see some clouds build towards the afternoon hours as a cold front works its way towards the South Plains.  As of right now we expect that cold front to arrive in Lubbock in the afternoon.  With abundant sun earlier in the day, we should still reach the mid to upper 80s in Lubbock for an afternoon high, cooler for our northwestern counties and warmer for our southeastern counties. This cold front will not be nearly as strong as the one we saw this last week, but  there is still a slight chance for some activity.  There doesn't seem to be much moisture on Monday afternoon for us to get much action in the afternoon, but once that cold front passes, it will bring a slight chance for some scattered showers and thunderstorms.  The greatest chance for those scattered showers and Thunderstorms will be overnight Monday into early Tuesday.   The effects of that cold front wont last long, we'll only see a high on Tuesday afternoon in the mid to upper 70s.  But a drying trend will begin by Wednesday when we should start to see warmer overnight lows in the low 60s, more sunshine, and an afternoon high back into the mid 80s.  The mid to upper 80 degree temperatures will last through the entire work week along with abundant sunshine.Enjoy the mainly pleasant weather over the next few days!  Join me tonight on the News at Nine!-Caitlin
