Trace Adkins - Cowboy's Back in Town (Show Dog-Universal)

Trace Adkins ‘Cowboy’s Back In Town’ Hits Stores August 17

One of Nashville’s most storied careers will take another step forward on August 17 as country star Trace Adkins releases the eagerly awaited Cowboy’s Back In Town. The latest CD was originally scheduled to drop on August 24, but us eager fans get a treat by getting the album a week early.

The album is vintage Trace Adkins, with songs ranging from those celebrating love, like the tender “Still Love You,” to those showcasing the rowdy side of country living, like the hilarious “Hold My Beer.” Adkins is at the top of his game vocally, and the album shows him re-emerging as a top-flight songwriter, as he penned the title track, “Cowboy’s Back In Town,” with friends Jeff Bates and Kenny Beard, who co-produced along with Michael Knox (Jason Aldean). He is joined by special guests Trailer Choir, whose cool-as-a-breeze vocals add the perfect touch to “Don’t Mind If I Don’t,” a song celebrating love as the perfect excuse to take it easy.

New Music from Zac Brown Band on September 21st

‘You Get What You Give,’ the much-anticipated studio album from Zac Brown Band, on September 21st.

The album features a genre-defying collection of songs that the band has been testing on the road over the past year. Stand out tracks include: the somber piano-driven early fan favorite “Colder Weather,” the reggae-leaning, jam-inducing “Who Knows,” and a harmony-laced lesson on the merits of chasing after love “As She’s Walking Away.”

Praised for the ability to blend “down-home country with bits of reggae, bluegrass and rock to create a high-quality musical stew” (USA Today), front man Zac Brown notes that the new album “is representative of where we are right now. It combines elements of our southern rock and country roots, but also stays true to our jam-band style musicianship from the live show.”

The Band Perry Get Busy Writing 'Thank-You' Notes

New sibling trio The Band Perry are counting down the days until October 5, when their self-titled debut album hits stores nationwide. "I've been saying it's 'slated for release' up until about a week ago, but now it's in stone ... it's coming out!" Kimberly Perry gushes to The Boot. "We are so excited about it. We're on the road now, but we've got to get back to Nashville to put the finishing touches on it. We are dangerously close to finishing this record."

While the majority of the album is complete, Kimberly and her brothers, Neil and Reid, have been continuing to write as well as getting songs pitched to them from publishing companies around town. "We're going to go back in and maybe cut just a couple of more tracks," Kimberly says. "We're even down to writing the 'thank you's,' which were turned in this week."

Steel Magnolia Releasing Debut Album in September

Steel Magnolia will release their self-titled debut album on September 21st. And even though they have had a ton of success with their first single “Keep On Lovin’ You,” and with their new single quickly rising as one of the Top 5 Most-Streamed Video on CMT.com getting to this point hasn’t been an easy road for the duo.

“There’s a Queen song called, ‘We are the Champions,’ ” says Steel Magnolia’s Joshua Scott Jones. “There’s a line in the song that says.. “It’s been no bed of roses, no pleasure cruise, I consider it a challenge before the whole human race, and I ain’t gonna lose”. It’s true – it hasn’t been a bed of roses for me. I grew up dirt poor in Illinois. I don’t think you always have to know how you’re going to do something, you just have to have the determination to do it.”

“I knew at a very young age, exactly what I wanted to do,” echoes Meghan Linsey. “I started coming to Nashville when I was 14 and moved when I turned 18. I found my ‘niche’ working in karaoke bars in downtown Nashville. I didn’t have money or connections or much of anything, I had no idea how all of this was going to work out, I just always believed that it would.”

Steel Magnolia wrote 7 of the 12 tracks on their upcoming album debut.

1. Ooh La La (Joshua Scott Jones, Meghan Linsey)
2. Keep On Lovin’ You (Chris Stapleton, Trent Willmon)
3. Just By Being You (Halos and Wings) (Britton Cameron, Patricia Conroy)
4. Edge Of Goodbye (Joshua Scott Jones, Meghan Linsey Julie Moriva)
5. Bulletproof (Lori McKenna, Chris Tompkins)
6. Not Tonight (Shane Stevens, Hillary Lindsey, Matthew West)
7. Last Night Again (Joshua Scott Jones, Meghan Linsey, Hillary Lindsey)
8. Without You (Joshua Scott Jones, Meghan Linsey, Van Asa Preston)
9. Rainbow (Joshua Scott Jones, Meghan Linsey, Tommy Henriksen, Chioma Eze)
10. Eggs Over Easy ( Joshua Scott Jones, Meghan Linsey, Steffon Hamulak)
11. Homespun Love (Keith Urban, Vernon Rust)
12. Glass Houses (Joshua Scott Jones)

Jaron Gets 'Dressed' for New Album

Jaron of Jaron and the Long Road to Love has been in the studio putting the finishing touches on his upcoming album. The project is being described by the singer-songwriter as a collection of songs chronicling the rise and fall of love. "I think when people hear the album, they will understand the 'band name' better," explains Jaron. "People are a bit confused by 'The Long Road to Love.' At first, they think it is my band name, but when I walk out on stage by myself, people quickly realize that it's not my band. I tell them it's my journey. It's my way of letting listeners know that my songs are about my personal experiences of falling in and out of love."

Easton Corbin's Debut Album Out In March

Easton Corbin's self-titled debut album is slated for release March 2nd on Mercury Nashville. Recognized for his unapologetically country sound and baritone drawl, he already has a Top 20 hit to his name with introductory single "A Little More Country Than That" which debuted in August.

"This song identifies who I am," the Trenton, Florida native says. "It shows character and that's important where I'm from. You learn to say 'yes, ma'am' and 'no, sir,' and to open the door for the ladies."

Like his heroes Keith Whitley, George Jones and Merle Haggard, Easton stands for songs that are rooted in the present, but call to mind simpler times. He wrote four of the eleven tracks and is produced by Carson Chamberlain (Billy Currington). People magazine named the newcomer to their "Buzz-Worthy" artist list last fall and featured "The Way Love Looks", a track co-penned by Easton, in their "Hot Songs" section.

Continuing to make the radio rounds, this week Easton will perform in North Carolina, entertain at a St. Jude's event in Maryland and make two stops in his home state of Florida. The remainder of the month rounds out with visits for stations in Tennessee, Wisconsin, Iowa and Virginia.

Growing up Easton spent much of his time on his grandparent's cattle farm and as an active member of FFA and 4-H. He began taking guitar lessons at age 15 and would practice every day for hours when he got home from school, sometimes until his fingers were raw, which paid off when he landed the lead guitar spot in a local band. After earning a business degree through the College of Agriculture at the University of Florida, he married and moved to Music City. Shortly after, Mercury Nashville signed him and he quit his job at Ace Hardware to pursue his lifelong dream.

Jackson’s 18th album (including two hits collections), Freight Train was produced by longtime collaborator Keith Stegall and features 12 songs, one of which is Jackson’s hot new single, the Stegall co-write, “It’s Just That Way.”

Eight of the album’s dozen tracks bear Jackson’s songwriting credit, including one he penned with Roger Murrah, with whom he wrote one of his biggest hits, “Don’t Rock the Jukebox.” In a moving tribute to the legendary Vern Gosdin, who passed away last year and for whom Jackson has long expressed admiration, Jackson enlisted Lee Ann Womack to record “Till the End,” Gosdin’s 1977 classic duet with Janie Fricke.

Freight Train’s first single, “It’s Just That Way,” is already on the express track to the top of the country airplay charts, with Music Row praising, “Alan has seldom sounded warmer than he does on this lovely ballad.” “It’s Just That Way” is also one of three songs on the album to feature acclaimed bluegrass singer Rhonda Vincent on background vocals.
In addition, this past Tuesday, January 12, marked the release date for the digital single of  “It’s Just That Way,” available now at online music retailers.

Freight Train is Jackson’s newest album since Good Time, his March 2008 collection which produced three #1 singles and was released to critical acclaim. Alan Jackson is one of the most respected and successful artists of his generation, has sold over 50 million albums and has 34 #1 singles, 24 of which he wrote himself.

We've gotten a peek at the cover for Alan Jackson's upcoming album, Freight Train. It featured Alan leaning on a Pennsylvania Railroad diesel locomotive, with his guitar standing next to him.

Freight Train, which will be out on March 30th, will feature 12 songs, including the single "It's Just That Way." It also boasts "Till the End" with Lee Ann Womack, a re-make of the 1977 Vern Gosdin - Janie Fricke duet.
