After 11 years...I'm finally back HOME in Texas!!... and my how time flies and the FCC fines stack up. I originally was born and raised here in Lubbock, meaning that I grew up on the Dallas Cowboys, Texas BBQ, Texas Tech, and the blowing wind. Graduated from Coronado in '97. Then after one illustrious year at Tech, moved to Dallas/Ft. Worth (where I got into radio) and then to Charlotte, NC. Like alot of stories around here, I had to leave home to realize where I needed to be (which was here all along).
Along the way, I found myself a great Carolina Southern girl...the redhead of my dreams, Katie. We met on the set of a tv show when she put makeup on me (she's a makeup artist...and I'm the guy they had to put on camera). We got married on July 14th in 2007...and if you want to "be there" for the ceremony...click on the pictures below for a mini-wedding album!
AND as you know, we now have our first child...a honeymoon baby girl!! Born on March 28th of last year...and it's amazing that she's even related to me. She had a tough start to her life...and because of the many who had her in their prayers and still do, it made all the difference. This year we celebrated her 1 year birthday!
I've been doing this radio thing since fall of 1999...and am finally getting paid actual money for it! It's a blast and is something that I've always wanted to do, and there's nothing like hanging out with several hundred thousand of you Triple L Fans every afternoon!
Being here at the station that I grew up listening to is so wild and amazing that it's hard to even grasp. Life does come around full circle, and there's no doubt God led us here and opened the doors to make it happen. KLLL IS radio in Lubbock, and I've always known that. To share a microphone with these talented people and to continue the tradition of KLLL (Waylon Jennings was a DJ here!) is such an honor.
I love Nascar and the Dallas Cowboys. I like old movies, old radios, old stuff, and new car smell. My parents only had me...so I'm an only child (which everyone at this point usually says "well that explains it"). If you're ever wondering what I look like (I always was curious about people I heard on the radio), I'm 5'10", 29 years old. I like long walks on the beach and watching sunse...wait...wrong web site.
CD's currently in my truck: Pat Green, Alison Krauss, Keith Urban, Robert Earl Keen "Live No.2 Diner", anything Garth and usually some rock music if I'm feeling fiesty (that crazy stuff your kids listen to every now and then). Plus any Frank Sinatra I can find under the seats.
