"Angel Flight" proceeds
benefit Guard families
"Angel Flight" is taking off and touching hearts across the country. Radney wrote the song with fellow Texas songwriter Darden Smith to tell the story of the aircrew that fly fallen soldiers home to their final resting place. The Air National Guard entrusted with flying these soldiers refer to the journey as the “Angel Flight.”
You can now download the single on Radney's Bandbox, or the video and song on iTunes. Proceeds from “Angel Flight” will be donated to the Texas National Guard Family Support Foundation, which provides assistance to military families beset by tragedy.

A message from Radney to KLLL
(we thought you should read it)
Dear Friend,
First, I want to thank you for the tremendous support you have given “A Little Revival” at Texas radio and at KLLL out there in Lubbock. I am grateful that you have played my music so readily over the years.
I’d like just a moment to tell you about my song “Angel Flight” and the opportunity it presents to honor our armed forces personnel while doing something worthwhile for the families of the Texas National Guard.
An “angel flight” is what the military call the flights where fallen
service men and women are taken home to their final resting place.
Needless to say this is an emotional and powerful duty that the angel flight pilots take very seriously.
The inspiration for the song, written by Texas native Darden Smith and me, is the “Red River 44” from the Texas National Guard-- seven brave souls killed while serving in Iraq and the flight crew who brought them home.
The lion’s share of the royalties from this recording go to benefit Guard families in crisis through the Texas National Guard Family Support Foundation. I’ve had the honor of meeting the surviving members of the Red River 44, and I cannot put into words the ways in which they’ve inspired me. I am proud and humbled tell their story with this song.
I hope you will give a listen to “Angel Flight,” and partner with me to tell the story the way only Texas radio and KLLL can.
Thanks,
Radney Foster
"We have so many things to be thankful for this year , I would ask that all of us remember those who are not able to make it home to their families, especially those military men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. I wrote this song to tell the story of the "Angel Flight," the aircrew who fly fallen soldiers home to their final resting place.
I hope you'll take a moment to watch the video
and pass it on to your friends.
Proceeds from "Angel Flight" benefit the Texas National Guard Family Support Foundation, which provides assistance to military families beset by tragedy. Please have a safe and joyous new year, and hug your loved ones close."
