Champions for Children Annual Fundraiser for Covenant Children’s Emergency Department, Runs October 1-16
Your loose change can make a big impact on a kid here on the South Plains. Covenant Children’s is kicking off their 4th annual Champions for Children fundraiser on October 1.
Covenant Children’s is the only faith-based, licensed, free-standing children’s hospital in West Texas. We care for approximately 80,000 patients annually through our Level IV NICU, pediatric and maternal transport unit, Kite Flight, pediatric hematology and oncology clinic, relational health center, and more.
With the help of local businesses, like United Supermarkets, Champions for Children will help raise funds for the Covenant Children’s Emergency Department.
We want to give every community member the chance to support children’s healthcare – to be a Champion for Children. With almost 50 individual participating locations, this campaign is an opportunity for community members across the South Plains to support this crucial ongoing work with every dollar raised staying here in West Texas to care for our kids from Texas & New Mexico.
Participating businesses include:
United Supermarkets
Market Street
Amigo’s
House of Flowers
Keva Juice
Mighty Wash
One Guy from Italy
Giorgio’s
Taco Villa
7Brews
Tea2Go
Guests inside participating businesses can give $1 (or more!) at checkout to support Covenant Children’s. Where available, the guest can also write their name on a Children’s kite to be displayed at the business. All proceeds raised over the two-week campaign will support local children cared for at our hospital.
We want to extend our gratitude to United Supermarkets for their support of our patients.
“We are honored to join Covenant Children’s today as they launch their annual Champions for Children fundraising campaign,” said Sidney Hopper, president of The United Family. “We are excited to help them reach their fundraising goals by offering guests an opportunity to donate at the register in our stores across the Lubbock community. The work Covenant does to care for children and their families during some of their most difficult times is incredible and we’re glad to be their partner in that endeavor.”
