Jelly Roll Reveals Attempted Sales Manipulation By Fellow Musician
Recently, Jelly Roll called out the dirty game of sales manipulation in regard to his latest project’s release and expressed his frustrations to Pat McAfee.
Jelly Roll said, “There was an artist that looked like HITS Daily Double projected they wasn’t even gonna be within 50-60,000 albums of me and Rod Wave. And then Thursday night, before the Friday count ends, 40,000 albums [from a] third-party aggregated site.” He continued, “And you’re just like, ‘Yo, that’s just slimy.’ I used a great term. Now, Luminate who is in charge of counting record sales, rejected these sales, which is how I ended up with the No. 1 album.”
Even though Jelly Roll never named the artist, many fans speculated that it was Charlie XCX, who was the artist Jelly Roll was referring to in this interview.
