21 Year Old Ny’Kia Spence has been booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center for 1st degree felony arson and burglary of a habitation stemming from a residential structure fire in Northwest Lubbock earlier this month.

On September 11th, 2023, just after 10:30am, Lubbock Fire Rescue received a 911 call in reference to a residential structure fire near the intersection of 5th Street and Walnut Avenue. Quint 2 arrived on scene with heavy fire conditions coming from the corner of the home. Crews then made entry for primary search and fire control. The fire was quickly extinguished with zero injuries, with the exception of one dog who suffered from severe burns to its body. The Lubbock Fire Rescue Fire Marshal’s Office determined the cause of the fire to be arson.

On Wednesday, September 27th, the US Marshal’s Office and the Lubbock Fire Rescue Fire Marshal’s Office arrested Spence without incident.
