Broadway Block Party moves to United Supermarkets Arena

Inclement weather will take Texas Tech’s “Broadway Block Party” from the historic brick street to the hardwood on Thursday night with an adjustment being made for the annual event to take place in United Supermarkets Arena. With basketball season right around the corner, “Broadway Block Party”, a celebration of Texas Tech basketball, returns for its third year on Thursday inside the home of the Tech basketball programs with a night full of opportunities for fans to interact with players from the women’s and men’s teams.

Admission remains free for students and fans. The Red Raiders and Lady Raiders will be on display at their home arena for the preseason event which will run from 7:45-9 p.m. Doors will open at 7 p.m. with Tech students scanning in at the traditional student entrance on the Southeast side of the USA while doors for all other fans will be at the Southwest and Northwest entrances. Fans can park in the North Lot at the arena (C11) and anywhere in Commuter West. Inside the arena, seating in sections 102-112 will be open with the event taking place on the north side of the court.

Festivities will feature games for fans and team introductions. Competitions between the players include ‘knockout’ and a 3-point contest, while there will also be a kids slam dunk contest with young fans from the crowd being selected to showcase their skills.

To provide a safer environment for the public and significantly expedite guest entry into venues, Texas Tech Athletics has a clear bag policy that limits the size and type of bags that may be brought into venues. Concessions will not be in operation.

The 2026-27 basketball season begins in Lubbock with the Red Raiders hosting Jackson State at 6 p.m. on Monday, November 2, while the Lady Raiders open their season at 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 5 against Charlotte at United Supermarkets Arena.

Single game tickets for both Red Raider Basketball and Lady Raider Basketball are on sale now, while season tickets are still available for Lady Raider Basketball. Tickets can be purchased online, 24/7, by visiting TexasTech.com or by calling the Texas Tech Athletic Ticket Office at 806-742-TECH from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
