LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech Women’s Basketball head coach, Krista Gerlich, has provided the following statement after the Lady Raiders were not selected for either postseason tournament on Sunday:

“On behalf of our entire program, we are obviously disappointed to not be selected tonight for either the NCAA Tournament or the new Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT). The goal for Lady Raider Basketball will always be to hear our name called for the NCAA Tournament on Selection Sunday. That was our goal entering this season and will remain the same as we unfortunately enter the offseason. I firmly believe this program continues to make progress towards being a fixture in March. I am proud of how this team stuck together and battled together through adversity all season, especially late in the year when injuries plagued our roster. Because of this and in the best interest of our team, we will not accept an invitation to any of the other postseason tournaments this season. We can’t thank our passionate fans enough for their support all season long and can’t wait to see you back in United Supermarkets Arena again next November.”
