LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech (21-6, 2-2) fell in its opener to No. 1 Oklahoma (25-1, 4-0) by a score of 14-0 after an eight-run seventh inning.

Raegan Jennings and Demi Elder recorded both of the Red Raider’s hits. Elder also drew a walk to help load the bases late in the game, but multiple strikeouts by Oklahoma’s pitcher foiled Tech’s chances.

Makenna Mitchell recorded her second collegiate start, first in Big 12 play, and showed flashes of great defense making three solid plays at the hot corner.

UP NEXT: The Red Raiders will host Oklahoma again tomorrow at 1 p.m. before hosting the final game of the series on Sunday at 12 p.m.
