DENTON, Texas – The Texas Tech softball team (8-3) began its trip to Denton on a good note as they defeated Stephen F. Austin 4-0 on Friday morning.

Maddy Wright pitched another gem, picking up her third win of the season after going 7.0 innings and recording seven strikeouts while allowing just two hits. This is Wright’s second complete game in a Red Raider uniform.

Abbie Orrick got it going on offense, recording two triples in back-to-back at bats. Orrick entered the game having just one career triple..

Orrick, Wright, Arriana Villa and Alanna Barraza each recorded an RBI as the Red Raiders used three sacrifice flies to push runs across. That marks the first time since 2014 that Tech has had three sac flies in a game.
